HANDGUNS I
Entry level course for those who have either never shot a handgun or have limited prior experience. Course participants will learn the basic components of a handgun and entry-level shooting form. Instructors will work participants through both dry-fire and live-fire practice rounds.
If needed, Handgun rental is an additional $15, plus the cost of ammunition.

Summary
In this course, attendees will learn the fundamentals of handguns, basic shooting techniques and receive a brief overview of PA laws concerning firearms use.
The course is a 3-hour, single-day course, that includes 2 hours of classroom time and 1 hour of range time. Each attendee should bring their own firearm or use a rental handgun that can be procured on-site before the class.
This provides a great platform for first-time shooters and moderate beginners to learn and practice the basic responsibilities and proficiencies of handgun ownership.
Skills
UPON COURSE COMPLETION, ATTENDEES WILL:
• Review the Cardinal Rules of Handgun Safety
• Understand the basic principles of what a firearm is
• Review firearms malfunctions
• Review the primary components of a handgun
• Review basic shooting fundamentals
• Receive a brief overview of legal rights and limitations regarding firearms
• On their own learn to:
1. Operate the basic functions of a handgun
2. Load ammunition into a magazine or cylinder
3. Manipulate the slide of a pistol
4. Fire their firearm and reload
• Receive knowledge and references to know where to go for further information/education.
• Options for next-level courses
Prerequisites & Requirements
• Personal handgun or rented handgun from Freedom Armory
• 50-100 rounds of ammunition (purchased separately from class registration)
• Ear and eye protection (loaners available at class if needed)

Course Format
This three-hour course includes two hours of classroom instruction followed by approximately one hour in the range, applying the shooting principles learned and demonstrated in the classroom.

Course participants will learn weapons-handling skills, buttons and levers, loading and unloading, disassembly and cleaning, refined shooting mechanics, proper sight and trigger usage, and more. Instructors will work participants through both dry-fire and live-fire practice rounds.
Skills
UPON COURSE COMPLETION, ATTENDEES WILL:
• Memorize the Cardinal Rules of Handgun Safety
• Discuss procedures for safe “best practices” of in-home firearm storage
• Receive an overview of legal rights and limitations regarding firearms
• Review basics of carry practices & holster selection – OWB, IWB, Shoulder, etc.
• Understand why you shoot at center mass when in a defensive situation
• Understand the detailed parts of a handgun along with their function:
• Basic field stripping of handguns & cleaning
• Build upon the fundamentals taught in Intro to Handguns I regarding shooting form
• Independently perform:
1. Loading ammunition into their magazine or cylinder
2. Insert the magazine into the gun/close the cylinder
3. Manipulate the slide of the gun – Load a round into the chamber
4. Reverse process – Safely unload a loaded firearm
5. Fire their firearm and reload
6. Clear firearm round malfunctions
7. Consistently fire and hit the intended target while performing correct shooting mechanics
Prerequisites & Requirements
• Complete Freedom Armory Intro to Handguns I or demonstrate competence of the below:
• Previously fired 100+ rounds of live handgun ammunition
• Verbal screening test via Freedom Armory store associate for anyone who is seeking to bypass taking Freedom Armory Intro to Handguns I
• Personal handgun or rented handgun from Freedom Armory
• 50-100 rounds of ammunition (purchased separately from class registration)
• Ear and eye protection (loaners available at class if needed)

HANDGUNS III

Whether your goal is personal defense or competitive performance in action pistol events, this course will significantly elevate your skill, confidence, and speed with the handgun.

Whether your goal is personal defense or competitive performance in action pistol events, this course will significantly elevate your skill, confidence, and speed with the handgun.

CONCEALED CARRY
Concealed Carry is centered around the effective techniques for drawing your handgun from a concealed posture.

Summary
We will begin the course in the classroom discussing equipment, holster and firearm selection, defensive mindset, situational awareness, carry considerations and law enforcement interaction.
From the classroom we will move onto the range. Using a variety of live fire drills we will introduce, demonstrate and practice the concealed draw cycle. The skills taught will prepare a person to conduct safe drawing practice while on the range. This is NOT a legal course and all questions related to lawful application of force and laws surrounding concealed carry will be directed to an attorney.

COURSE GUIDELINES
Persons 13 years and older may participate in classes but must be accompanied by a guardian. Both the minor and the guardian must purchase separate class tickets. Persons 18 years and older may attend classes without a guardian. All person must show valid ID before entering the range. ALL ammunition used in rental firearms MUST be purchased from Freedom Armory and, if under age 21, any remaining handgun ammunition may not leave the premises.
Anyone suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol will NOT be allowed on the range. Freedom Armory reserves the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason. If you would provide the answer of “YES” to any of the below questions you are strictly forbidden to enter the range premises.
Have you ever been adjudicated as mentally defective, been committed to a mental institution, or have a history of mental illness or severe depression?
Have you ever been advised by a physician or health care provider to avoid operation/use of a firearm for health reasons?
Are you an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana, any depressant, stimulant or narcotic drug, or any controlled or illegal substance?
Have you ever been convicted of a felony, a domestic abuse misdemeanor, or more than three DUI’s in a five-year period?
If renting a Freedom Armory Rental Firearm, I certify that I have been shown the proper and safe operation of the firearm for myself and my executors and assign release to Freedom Outdoors & Armory LLC and its related companies, owners, executives and employees from all liability for personal injury or property damage arising out of use of the facility and/or its equipment or firearms, or any firearm in my possession, and I agree to hold harmless Freedom Outdoors & Armory LLC and its related companies, owners, executives and employees and indemnify them from responsibility for any claims or demands arising out of such use. I agree to pay for any legal fees for Freedom Outdoors & Armory LLC and its related companies, owners, executives and employees that stem from the result of my actions.
I agree to be held financially responsible for any damage or destruction to the range and/or range equipment. I also agree to be held financially responsible for all claims or demands by any third-party individuals who are harmed due to my use of any firearm or my actions while on the range.
I have read, understand and agree to abide by all written Freedom Armory Range Safety Rules.
If purchasing a gun rental online, I certify I will comply with this agreement before entering the range or taking possession of a firearm.
COURSE CANCELLATION / RESCHEDULING POLICY
Cancellation or rescheduling of a course reservation MUST occur at least TWO WEEKS BEFORE the reserved course date for a refund of the course fee. Cancellation or rescheduling requests made less than two weeks before the class date will result in forfeiture of the course fee.
Freedom Armory makes every effort to avoid canceling scheduled courses. However, unforeseen circumstances or instructor availability may occasionally require a cancellation. If Freedom Armory cancels a course, customers may choose to receive a full refund or reschedule for a future date.
