OUR HISTORY
Freedom Armory is serious about Freedom, Family, Faith, Community, and our shared love of our second amendment rights. To learn more about what we stand for see our creed.
Freedom Armory is part of a multi-location retail company that has deep roots in family-owned business. Currently, three locations are operated under two brands: Freedom Amory and Freedom Outfitters. All three of the existing locations were founded by independent family operators. The first was Kinsey’s Outdoors (1950s) from Mount Joy, Lancaster, Pa. The second, Freedom Armory (1995) from Glen Rock, York Pa, and the third, Trop Gun Shop (1961), Elizabethtown, Pa. Each of these stores were the predominant family owned retailer in their perspective regions. Although in some respects these locations have competed over the years,each brand developed its own strong and unique customer base. From 2023 through 2025 the independent locations have joined forces as Freedom Armory and Freedom Outfitters, still family owned, and still supporting the local community, Freedom Companies are stronger than ever and poised to offer expertise, training, sales, and community to the same loyal customer bases that these stores independently built over the past 70+ years.
Freedom Amory and Freedom Outfitters are joined through common ownership and common values but each speak to a unique and passionate customer base. Combined we offer an unparallelled merchandize selection, service offerings, and expertise to our south central Pennsylvania community. For a detailed look at each brand see below:
FREEDOM ARMORY
Our Armory locations include indoor ranges and a tailored focus on new and used firearms and ammunition. Each store has a strong handgun selection across numerous brands as well as a focus on recreational shooting, target shooting, and defensive tactical accessories. Firearm enthusiasts look no further. Beyond merchandise sales, Armory stores offer range membership programs, a strong training class offering with beginner-through-advanced firearm classes, emergency medical classes, and much more. Although not specifically focused on the hunter like our Outfitter store, Armory locations carry basic hunt accessories with crossbows offered in select locations.

Our Outfitter store focuses on the broad outdoorsman with large offerings in archery, firearms, ammunition, clothing, treestands, fishing, and all things hunting. The Freedom Outfitters location is your go-to source for a wide-selection of hunting and outdoor merchandise, as well as training, contests, and service.
